The Easter 2012 application and reference forms have now closed. The results will be announced 5pm on Monday 30th January 2012 by email and on the Facebook page.
The application process for the summer 2012 programme will be completely separate.
We don't yet know what will be happening about the summer 2012 programme. There will be a summer programme but details won't be announced until March 2012 or later. We at the University of Manchester only have the contract up until the Easter 2012 programme. We will bid for the next contract but we won't know who won the bid until spring 2012. If someone else wins the contract they may choose to run the programme in a completely different way so we can't answer any questions about the summer programme, it's content, it's location, dates, how to apply etc. etc. etc.
The Study China Programme is a government-funded 17-day study programme in China. It’s a tremendous opportunity to learn about China, its language and its culture, and it’s open to undergraduates in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
You will have the opportunity to visit China, take an intensive course in Chinese language and be immersed in Chinese cultural and social activities. Take a look at some of the comments from previous students:
“This programme was enormously worthwhile and I feel privileged to have been selected” - Felicity Minns - The University of Exeter.
“I really had the time of my life and loved every minute of it” - Sarah Wing - The University of Salford.
“By being on this trip it has made me a better person and has given me more clarity on the path that I lead in life.” - Douglas Haynes - University of Hertfordshire
How much does it cost? All you have to pay for is your travel to China (flight, visa, insurance).

Study China is an initiative of the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, and is jointly funded by the Scottish Government and the Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland. It is managed on their behalf by the University of Manchester.
